A Supper to Remember
Jesus was sharing a final supper with his disciples before his death. He loved them and wanted them to remember his love.
The friends gathered around the table.
During the meal, Jesus took bread and gave thanks to God. He broke it and gave it to his friends.
The bread would help them remember that he was giving his life for them.
He also shared the cup. It pointed to the new covenant, God's promise of forgiveness through him.

He told them to do this in remembrance of him. They were not to forget the One who loved them so deeply.
The disciples still had many questions. They did not yet understand all that would happen before the next day ended.
Jesus knew, and he stayed close to them. His gifts at the table gave them something simple to remember in the difficult days ahead.
The meal continued in the upper room.
When Christians share the Lord's Supper, they remember Jesus' love, his sacrifice, and his promise.
We can also remember his example every day. Sharing, giving thanks, and caring for one another help us live the love he taught around that table.
