Jesus Before Pilate
Jesus was brought before Pilate, the Roman governor. The leaders who accused him wanted Pilate to order his death.
People gathered outside the governor's hall.
Pilate asked questions. Jesus had not come to lead a violent rebellion. His kingdom followed a different way.
After listening, Pilate said he found no reason to condemn him. But the accusations and demands continued.
Pilate sent Jesus to Herod, who was also in Jerusalem. Jesus was then sent back to Pilate.

Pilate knew Jesus had done nothing deserving death. Still, he was afraid of the crowd's anger and of trouble for himself.
The crowd pressed its demand.
Instead of doing what he knew was right, Pilate gave in. He handed Jesus over to be crucified.
Jesus was treated unfairly. Yet he did not stop loving the people he had come to save.
Doing right can be difficult when others are shouting for something wrong. A crowd does not make an unkind choice good.
We can ask God for courage to tell the truth, seek help from a trusted adult, and stand beside someone being treated unfairly. Justice needs hearts willing to act on what is right.
