A miracle of Jesus · Part 4 of 20 · 3 min

A Net Full of Fish

Peter and his friends had worked on the lake all night. They were fishermen and knew their nets.

But that night they caught no fish. In the morning they stood beside their boats, washing their nets.

Many people came to hear Jesus. He stepped into Peter's boat and asked him to move a little away from shore.

From there Jesus taught the people.

Afterward he told Peter to take the boat into deeper water and let down the nets.

Peter remembered their long night with nothing to show. Still, because Jesus asked, he decided to do it.

Peter and his friends lowered the nets into the water.

Jesus and Peter are in a boat as fishermen lower a net.
Peter listened to Jesus and lowered the nets again.

Then something extraordinary happened. So many fish filled the net that it began to tear.

The fishermen signaled for their partners to help. The other boat came closer.

Both boats filled with fish.

Peter was amazed. He recognized that someone far greater than himself was there, and he spoke humbly.

Jesus did not send him away. He told him not to fear and invited him to a new task: helping people come to know God.

Two boats receive an abundant catch while the fishermen work together.
The friends helped with the great catch.

When they reached land, Peter and his friends left their boats and followed Jesus.

The story reminds us that we can listen and learn after a difficult attempt.

It also shows the value of asking for help. A net that full needed several pairs of hands.

When a task is big, we can work together. Sharing the effort can bring joy to everyone.

Jesus cares and helps, and we can share his kindness.
