Noah's Ark and the Rainbow Promise
Long ago, the world had become a place where many people forgot to be kind. But one man, named Noah, loved God and tried to do what was right. Noah cared for his wife, his sons, and all the living things around him.
One day, God spoke to Noah. God told him that a great flood was coming and gave him a very important job: he must build an enormous boat called an ark. The ark would keep Noah's family and many animals safe.

Noah trusted God, even though he had never built anything so large. He called to his family, “Come, everyone. God will keep us safe inside the ark.” Together, they began to work.
They cut sturdy wood, carried long beams, hammered wooden pegs, and pulled heavy ropes. Day after day, the ark grew taller and wider. At last, it stood like a great wooden house beside the hills.

Then something wonderful happened. Animals began to arrive from every direction. Tall giraffes stretched their necks. Elephants walked with slow, heavy steps. Lions padded quietly beside sheep, rabbits, zebras, and many colorful birds.
They came in pairs and walked up the wooden ramp. Noah smiled and guided them to safe places inside. He stored grain, fruit, hay, and fresh water so that everyone would have enough.

When Noah's family and all the animals were inside, the great door of the ark closed. Noah looked at his family and reminded them that God was with them.
The first raindrops tapped on the wooden roof. Tap… tap… tap. Soon the gentle drops became a steady shower.

Rain poured from the sky, and distant thunder rolled across the clouds. Water rose around the ark until the great boat lifted gently from the ground and began to float.
For many days, the ark creaked and rocked upon the water. Outside, the rain continued. Inside, Noah and his family fed the animals, swept the floors, and comforted every creature that felt afraid.

Noah waited patiently. He knew that God had not forgotten them. Each morning he checked the sky, and each night the family rested while the ark floated beneath the clouds.
At last, the rain stopped. The final drops slid from the roof, and a gentle breeze moved over the quiet water. Slowly, the water began to go down.
After a long while, the ark rested on a mountain. Noah sent out a raven and then a dove to look for dry land. The birds flew over the water while Noah watched from the window.

One evening, the dove returned with a fresh olive leaf in its beak. Noah's heart filled with hope. Soon the dove found a place to live and did not need to return.
When the land was dry, Noah opened the ark. Sunlight streamed through the doorway. The animals hurried into the fresh air—walking, hopping, roaring, chirping, and flapping their wings with joy.

Noah thanked God for protecting every life inside the ark. Then God made Noah a promise: the earth would never again be covered by a flood like this one.
God placed a brilliant rainbow across the clouds as a sign of that promise. Its colors shone red, orange, yellow, green, blue, and violet above the mountains.
Noah and his family looked up at the rainbow. They remembered that even through long storms and patient waiting, God had stayed close. And whenever rain and sunlight meet, the rainbow can still remind us of hope, care, and a promise that is not forgotten.
