A Father Trusted Jesus
An official lived in Capernaum. His son was very sick. The father loved the boy and was afraid of losing him.
When he heard that Jesus was in Cana, he went to find him. There was a journey to make, but his concern was greater than his tiredness.
The father walked to find Jesus.
When he arrived, he begged Jesus to come to his house before his son died. He needed help and did not want to wait.
Jesus spoke with him about trust. The father kept asking. More than anything, he wanted his child to live.

Then Jesus told him to go home because his son was alive.
The man believed what Jesus said and started home. Jesus did not need to enter the house to help.
As the father traveled, his servants came to meet him. They had wonderful news: the boy was better!
The father asked when he had begun to improve. It was the very hour when Jesus had said his son was alive.
The father heard that his son was well.

He and his family trusted Jesus. Their worried home received great joy.
This story invites us to bring our needs to Jesus. We can talk to him when someone we love is sick.
We can also stay close, find help, and care gently. Trust does not mean we will never feel worried.
It means we can come to God with our feelings. His love stays with us while we wait too.
Jesus cares and helps, and we can share his kindness.
Retelling of John 4:46–54.
