A miracle of Jesus · Part 10 of 20 · 3 min

The Storm Became Still

After teaching many people, Jesus got into a boat with his disciples. They were going across the lake.

Jesus was tired and fell asleep on a cushion. His friends guided the boat as they traveled.

Suddenly a strong storm arose.

The wind blew across the lake.

Waves struck the boat, and water came inside. Some disciples were fishermen, but this storm frightened them too.

They tried to keep going. Yet the water rose, and they needed help.

They went to wake Jesus and told him they were in danger.

The disciples turned to Jesus during the storm.

Jesus stood. He spoke to the wind and sea, telling them to be still.

The wind stopped, and the water became calm.

How different the lake was now! The disciples no longer had to struggle against those waves.

Jesus asked about their fear and trust. They were amazed: even the wind and sea obeyed him.
