A miracle of Jesus · Part 9 of 20 · 3 min
Jesus Comforted a Mother
Jesus was walking toward a town called Nain. His disciples and many other people were with him.
Near the entrance they met a group leaving town. A mother was very sad. Her only son had died.
She was a widow: her husband had died too. Many people stayed beside her in this painful moment.
Jesus saw the mother and felt compassion.
He did not pass by as though her tears did not matter. He came closer and spoke gently.
Then he touched the place where they carried the young man. The people carrying him stopped.

Jesus spoke to the young man and told him to get up.
The young man received life and began to speak.
Jesus gave him back to his mother. She could hug the son she had lost.
The young man was with his mother again.
People were filled with wonder and praised God. They recognized that he had come to help his people.
The news spread to nearby places.

This miracle shows that Jesus cares about our pain. He does not laugh at tears or turn away from sadness.
When someone loses a person they love, they need company and time. We can listen, bring a drawing, or sit nearby.
Jesus' hope stays with us when we still miss someone. We can share that hope and offer loving company.
If you are sad, you can talk with someone who cares for you. Your feelings matter. You do not have to hide them to be loved.
Jesus cares and helps, and we can share his kindness.
